Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra will miss the Premier League run-in after sustaining an ankle injury.
Sinisterra, 23, was withdrawn 32 minutes into Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Leicester on Tuesday.
The Colombian went down under a challenge from Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu and, after receiving treatment on the pitch, could not continue. Leeds are waiting to see if Sinisterra now requires surgery.
“Luis will be out for the rest of the season,” head coach Javi Gracia confirmed on Friday.
Sinisterra has endured an injury-hit first season at Leeds, with a foot problem keeping him out of a spell of fixtures before and after the World Cup break. The former Feyenoord man also missed four matches through injury in February and March.
This latest injury comes amid a good run of form for Sinisterra, who has scored three goals in his last six appearances, including the opening goal in the Leicester match.
Gracia also noted that Max Wober had not yet returned to training after missing the Leicester game, with the defender a fitness doubt ahead of Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth.
