Piers Morgan reveals his five-man transfer shortlist to win Arsenal the title next season – including Declan Rice, two Brighton stars, a Napoli title winner and a Serie A goal machine
Piers Morgan has named his ideal five-man transfer shortlist to propel Arsenal to the Premier League title next season.
The Gunners look to have fallen short this campaign, losing 3-0 at home against Brighton on Sunday to seemingly end their charge for the championship.
Leaders Manchester City lie four points ahead of Mikel Arteta’s men having played a game fewer and are now heavy favourites to retain the trophy.
TV presenter and Arsenal fan Morgan has insisted on social media that his team have ‘bottled it’ and now need five players to launch a serious title bid in 2023-24.
And he took to Twitter again to reveal the five players he thinks could win Arteta and Co the title next season – including a West Ham star and two Brighton players.

He also picked out two Serie A title-winning Napoli stars to target to improve the Gunners’ XI
TV presenter Morgan (pictured) also revealed he wants his side to target two Brighton players
The first – and least surprising name – is West Ham midfielder Declan Rice. Mail Sport revealed in January that Rice is the north London club’s main target, with boss Arteta aiming to bolster the heart of his midfield.
Arsenal are ready to offer the Hammers £90million to sign their captain this summer and are preparing a £300,000-a-week deal to land the England star as they look to offload midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Morgan also named two players from Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls, who comfortably beat Arsenal at the Emirates this weekend.
He nominated midfielder Moises Caicedo – who impressed at right back on Sunday – and left winger Kaoru Mitoma.
Ecuadorian midfielder Caicedo would strengthen their midfield ranks and offer more cover for Ben White, while Mitoma would provide top-class cover and competition for wideman Gabriel Martinelli.
Morgan then labelled Napoli centre half Kim Min-jae, who has won the Serie A title this season. Arsenal have struggled recently without the injured William Saliba, with replacements Rob Holding struggling and Jakub Kiwior inexperienced.
Also nominated was Kim’s team-mate Victor Osimhen, who has scored 28 goals in all competitions this season for Luciano Spalletti’s Scudetto winners.
He would be happy with signing either Osimhen or Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, who would potentially offer more goalscoring threat than Gabriel Jesus’ current backup Eddie Nketiah.
