Hammers boss David Moyes brought the 27-year-old to the London Stadium from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for around £26 million (Daily Mail).
Aguerd missed the first half of the season through injury, but made an immediate impact when he returned to action just before the World Cup break. However, Moyes has criticised the Morocco international recently for some ‘sloppy’ performances.
Nevertheless, Aguerd looks like he will be a great signing for the Hammers in the long run. Will he be at West Ham beyond the end of this season though?
Liverpool eye shock move for West Ham ace Nayef Aguerd
Goal reckon that the Moroccan is one of three centre-backs who is admired by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
I must admit, I really think that the Hammers should be looking to keep hold of Aguerd. I think he’s a top player, and despite some shaky performances recently, I’m positive that he will come good.
talkSPORT recently described the centre-back as ‘sensational’.
He’s strong in the air, incredibly quick along the ground and is a real leader at the back for the Hammers.
The former Rennes star should be the West Ham captain when Declan Rice eventually leaves the club, there is no doubt in my mind about that.
If Liverpool come knocking for Nayef Aguerd in the summer though, it might well prove to be difficult for Moyes to keep him at the London Stadium.
I don’t think West Ham will have any intention of selling the former Rennes ace. We all know that money talks in the Premier League though.
This will be one to keep a close eye on during the summer transfer window.
