Nicolas Gonzalez had put Fiorentina ahead just three minutes into the final in Rome
But Martinez’s first-half goals were enough to allow Inter to retain the trophy they won last year
The equaliser came with a 29th minute shot from a tight angle, while Inter nudged in front eight minutes later with Martinez firing a close-range volley high into Pietro Terracciano’s net.
The second half remained goalless, and Fiorentina rarely threatened to level.
Inter comfortably hung on to secure their ninth Coppa Italia title, ahead of next month’s Champions League final against Manchester City in Turkey.
Three days prior to that clash in Istanbul, Fiorentina will face another English side, West Ham, in the final of the Europa Conference League.
