- Asensio was close to signing a new deal at Madrid before talks broke down
Marco Asensio is reportedly edging nearer to a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain as his Real Madrid contract runs down.
The Madrid winger will become a free agent at the end of the season and is set to move on from the Spanish giants.
Asensio is in advanced talks to make a switch to join French giants PSG, despite being offered a new contract by his current club, according to ESPN.
In April, it was reported that the Spaniard was close to committing his future to Madrid, but discussions appear to have broken down during the end-of-season run-in.
Asensio apparently rejected the offer and has now agreed with his agent Jorge Mendes that finding a new club is the best option.

Mendes and PSG chief negotiator Luis Campos supposedly share a strong relationship that has been key to securing a deal for Asensio to join the Ligue 1 champions.
Arsenal had previously held talks with Asensio but it appears they were unable to convince him that a move to the Premier League was the best option.
The 27-year-old has apparently been angered by his lack of game-time at Real Madrid this season where he has managed just 15 out of 36 LaLiga matches.
His minutes have been reduced by the continued rise of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Federico Valverde who have been preferred in Asensio’s wide or playmaker roles by Carlo Ancelotti.
Asensio will leave Madrid boasting a glittering career CV featuring three Champions League and three Spanish top-flight titles.
PSG are braced for a summer of departures that will see Argentina World Cup winning captain Lionel Messi leave once his contract expires.

Messi could return to his boyhood club Barcelona who have stated they will do everything possible to bring him back to the club.
It is also reported that PSG head coach Christophe Galtier is likely to leave after just one season in charge at the Parc des Princes.
Former Spain international head coach Luis Enrique has been linked with the role in recent days after club chiefs ‘unanimously agreed’ he would be a good fit.
Superstar talent Neymar could also be on his way out in the upcoming transfer window as PSG look to cash-in on one of their stars. Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has refused to rule out a move for the Brazilian.
