Sky U-turn on Moyes future
As previously reported on CandH, Sky Sports ran a breaking news story on Saturday saying that David Moyes had decided to stay at West Ham next season.
But now Sky Sports have performed a U-turn over the breaking news on the future of Moyes at West Ham amid all the recent Celtic links.
The breaking news story ‘Moyes stays’ was removed and replaced with a story headlined ‘Moyes expected to stay ’on at West Ham at 10.12pm on Saturday.
The original breaking news story was emphatic whereas the article that replaced it suggests there is yet to be official confirmation from the manager over his future.
Sky Sports reported .“David Moyes is expected to stay on as West Ham manager following talks with owner David Sullivan on Friday,”
“Moyes delivered the club’s first trophy in 43 years with a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in Prague on Wednesday and was linked with the vacant Celtic job, but with a year left to run on his contract is likely to stay at the London Stadium.
“The pair discussed summer transfer plans as well as the manager’s future, after Sullivan admitted on Thursday that captain and talisman Declan Rice will be sold this summer.”
This one will run for a little while yet but is now begins to look pretty certain the 60 year old Scot will be taking us into the new season despite the apparent decision to bring in a director of football.
