As a part of their pre-season preparation, Arsenal will compete against second division side 1. FC Nürnberg at the Max-Morlock-Stadion on July 13th.
The announcement came on Thursday, marking a reprise of last year’s meeting between the two clubs at the same venue.
Recalling the previous encounter, Nuremberg’s Sport Director, Dieter Hecking, commented, “It will be an absolute endurance test.”
The match serves as an important step for Arsenal’s training and tactical assessment, especially considering the physical demands of the game. “[The match] is another good opportunity to help Mikel Arteta and the squad prepare ahead of the new season,” Arsenal’s Technical Director, Edu, said.
Arsenal’s Busy Pre-Season Schedule
Beyond the Nuremberg friendly, Arsenal have a packed pre-season agenda, featuring fixtures in the Emirates Cup and Community Shield. Arsenal will also embark on a trip to the USA in addition to Germany, offering an array of testing grounds for manager Mikel Arteta and his squad.

Arsenal’s pre-season also includes matches against the MLS All-Stars team, Manchester United, and Barcelona in the USA. They are also set to take on AS Monaco in the Emirates Cup
Furthermore, due to Manchester City’s FA Cup victory, Arsenal are slated to face City at Wembley in the Community Shield on August 6th.
