BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea ‘to register their interest in Kylian Mbappe’ as PSG prepare to sell superstar because he won’t agree a contract extension – and Man United could be another option if Qatari takeover goes through
Chelsea are reportedly set to join the race for PSG wantaway Kylian Mbappe after the superstar revealed he would not renew his contract with the French champions beyond 2024.
Manchester United are also interested in the Frenchman and will consider launching a offer if the Qatari bid from Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani is accepted by the Glazer family.
Paris Saint-Germain are not prepared to let Mbappe leave the Parc de Princes on a free transfer next summer and will listen to offers for the 24-year-old this summer.
It is understood the Ligue 1 champions are hoping to land a deal which would allow them to keep hold of Mbappe for another season, with an agreed transfer fee attached.
Real Madrid came agonisingly close to luring Mbappe to the Bernabeu last summer before the forward sensationally chose to extend his PSG contract.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side parted company with star forward Karim Benzema following his £86million per year move to Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad last week and will likely be the favourites to land Mbappe again this summer, especially if they miss out on Tottenham legend Harry Kane.
According to The Times, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will register his interest in the World Cup winner this summer in the hope of luring him to Stamford Bridge.
Mail Sport understands that Manchester United are also considering a swoop for Mbappe this summer, but will only launch a bid once a full takeover at Old Trafford is confirmed.
The Qatari bid, which is currently in pole position, is rivalled only by British billionaire and lifelong Red Devils fan Sir Jim Ratcliffe, whose offer would see the unpopular Glazer family remain at the club as minority shareholders.
United had initially hoped to land England captain Kane this summer, but interest from Real Madrid has since quelled their chances of luring the striker.
Meanwhile, Manchester City – who expressed interest in Mbappe last summer – have enjoyed a Treble-winning season with record-breaking newcomer Erling Haaland in attack and are thus unlikely to pursue a deal for the Frenchman.
Mbappe re-signed with Paris Saint-Germain on an initial two-year contract, which included a player option of an extra season.
If the forward, who stunned PSG with news that he does not want to stay, has not agreed to the additional year by July 31, the French giants will look to cash in on him this summer.
