Transfer window negativity so silly
Transfer window negativity is so silly at times!
With things starting tomorrow (Wed) let’s get something straight before the moaners have their day.
Already it has started with a wearying and tiresome argument which would compare to the Beatles being described as the world’s worst ever band!
It goes like this:
“Clubs or sources, more to the point, should not be passing on information to journalists or the media generally as it let’s clubs know who we are after and that means we often lose them. As a result the media is awful, and wrecks things. Sources who do such things should be sacked if they are discovered.”
I’ll avoid the dramatic negatives one is often tempted to use when reading such stuff. Let’s simply so it’s not true and shows a misunderstanding of how things work in this game.
Agents are responsible for more leaks than any club as they bid to feather their financial nests and make a habit of handing them out to any number of outlets who in turn are employed to report. They also allow clubs to know which others are interested as they bid to get deals done!
The clubs themselves have reasons for letting things leaked and no decent media operator would ignore such tips given that is their chosen profession. Very silly to think otherwise.
Finally, newspapers have been breaking news for years upon years. It’s their job for those who aren’t aware of that so a little more reality may be required by those who mount such arguments against information coming into the public doman.
Frankly it is illogical and shows a big misunderstanding of what goes on inside the game ahead of it reaching the media.
