Pablo Fornals surely has to leave West Ham United this summer for the good of his own career.
West Ham manager David Moyes has barely played Pablo Fornals in the Premier League since October – in fact in the Hammers’ last 29 Premier League games, the Spaniard was handed just 813 minutes by the Scot (Transfermarkt).
And a recent report from the Guardian suggested that the 27-year-old could be sold this summer, in order to accommodate the arrival of Harvey Barnes from Leicester.
Fornals will be out of contract at the London Stadium in the summer of 2024, so something has to give. Either he signs a new deal now with the Hammers or he leaves.
I think it may well be the latter, and that will 100% be the right decision for the good of his own career. He has already hinted that a West Ham exit could be on the cards for him this summer…
Pablo Fornals surely has to leave West Ham as report makes big transfer claim
If the Hammers do sign Harvey Barnes this summer, Fornals will fall even further down the pecking order at the London Stadium.
Signed from Villarreal for £25 million in the summer of 2019 (The Telegraph), the Spaniard has gone on to establish himself as a firm fan favourite in the East End.
He is one of the most popular players at the club, so it would be really sad to see him go.
However, if Fornals is to get back in the Spain squad, he will surely have to leave the Hammers before the start of next season.
Moyes clearly isn’t a huge fan of Pablo – if he was he would have played him far more regularly over the past eight months.
And with numerous incomings expected at the London Stadium in the summer transfer window, the former Villarreal man will struggle even more for playing time next season.
It will be in the best interest of Pablo Fornals to leave West Ham this summer, as far as I’m concerned.
