AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has told Chelsea he is ‘not interested’ in joining them in the summer, according to reports.
Despite spending around £600million over the last year, Chelsea are in dire need of a new goalkeeper, striker and defensive midfielder, with the majority of their money going on wingers and central defenders.
Andre Onana has emerged as a top target for the goalkeeper position after a stellar debut season at Inter.
There is talk of a swap deal involving Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy or Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the Nerazzurri reportedly hoping to receive between €40-60m.
However, it would appear that the Blues have tested the water with Onana’s city rival, Maignan, who has been starring for AC Milan after joining from Lille for around €15m in 2021.
According to Foot Mercato, Maignan – who is valued at €35m (£30m), as per Transfermarkt – to Chelsea is ‘not hot’.
The report claims the French international is ‘not interested’ in a move to Stamford Bridge after the Premier League club ‘contacted’ Milan.
An exit from the Italian giants has not been ruled out after the player was left ‘astonished’ by Paolo Maldini’s exit.

However, the idea of joining Chelsea ‘does not particularly please’ Maignan due to their lack of European football.
The report adds that the Blues are ‘actively looking’ for a new goalkeeper with Onana on Mauricio Pochettino’s shortlist.
Inter will apparently let the Cameroonian shot-stopper leave for €58m in an attempt to balance the books and finance their own incoming transfers in the summer window.
Chelsea have been linked with Brentford’s David Raya in recent months, though Tottenham appear to be leading the race to sign the Spanish ‘keeper.
The Spaniard is valued at £40m by his club. He has one year left on his contract and has rejected several offers to extend.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has said Raya ‘wants the move’ with discussions taking place after he agreed personal terms with the Londoners.
He wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “Tottenham and Brentford, discussing on final fee for David Raya to join Spurs — the goalkeeper wants the move. Talks ongoing.
“Raya will not extend the contract in any case — been very clear with Brentford.
“Personal terms 100% agreed with Spurs as called on Sunday.”
