Prime David Moyes striker target Viktor Gyokeres has sent a come and get me plea to West Ham but ‘secret’ talks are a concern.
When Coventry City played Luton in the Championship play-off final, West Ham had a vested interest in the outcome.
And the Hammers got their desired result when it comes to their summer transfer window plans.
With Coventry remaining in the Championship, their star player Viktor Gyokeres will be sold.
The Sun recently claimed West Ham boss David Moyes personally attended several Coventry games to run the rule over the brilliant Sweden forward Gyokeres.
Widespread reports claim the 25-year-old ex Brighton prospect is West Ham’s number one striker target this summer.

With the futures of Michail Antonio, who turns 34 next season, Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca all in question, the Hammers will almost certainly be signing at least one striker.
And Gyokeres is being seen as the perfect all-action heir to Antonio in the lone striker role.
As the window officially opens for domestic deals, competition will likely be fierce.
Now prime Moyes striker target Gyokeres has sent a come and get me plea to West Ham but ‘secret’ talks are a concern.
Speaking to Swedish website fotbollskanalen, Gyokeres says he is aware of interest from the likes of West Ham and has made it clear he wants to leave.
The striker has even pleaded with Coventry to let him go amicably and to choose his next club.
‘I’m aware of the interest, I want to leave and I hope Coventry let me go where I choose’
“I only have one year left on the contract, so considering that, it’s quite a lot,” Gyokeres said.
“There are a number of clubs that are interested and Coventry surely want what they want. Then you have to take it accordingly and see when the club feels satisfied. But I hope that the club can also think about what I want and what I feel for, and not just about who pays the most…
“I hope you can cooperate now that the season is over and that you don’t just think about the money, but think about me and my career…
“I have been there and had two good seasons and feel like trying something new now. I hope it can be resolved.”
Alleged un-Sporting behaviour?
If Gyokeres really is West Ham’s prime striker target then Moyes and the club should be concerned by reports emerging from Portugal.
Leading Portuguese sports paper A Bola claims Sporting boss Ruben Amorim has already held “secret” talks with Gyokeres.
It states the manager “introduced him to the project and showed him home important he can be to the team”.
It further states that the Sporting coach “thus seduces the 25-year-old striker for the project he leads” and claims a five-year contract is waiting for the West Ham target.
The Hammers had better get their house in order and be ready to pounce.
