West Ham are set to announce the appointment of former Bayer Leverkusen chief Tim Steidten as the club’s new technical director.
The Hammers had been considering candidates for the position as part of a planned restructuring.
A deal was agreed with Steidten ahead of West Ham’s triumph in the Europa Conference League final, which qualified the club for next season’s Europa League.
Steidten, who left Leverkusen in March, is set to sign a contract shortly to take on the technical director role at West Ham.
Lee Dykes of Brentford and Paul Mitchell, who is leaving his role at Monaco, were also considered as contenders for the position.

The Hammers confirmed last week that David Moyes will stay on as manager next season
Steidten is expected to work alongside sporting director Mark Noble.
The 44-year-old initially transitioned from a professional playing career in the German lower leagues to scouting, arriving at Werder Bremen in 2008.
He then left the Bundesliga outfit in 2019 to become head of scouting at Leverkusen.
Steidten is credited as having played a key role in the acquisitions of several young talents at the club, such as Edmond Tapsoba, Jeremie Frimpong and Piero Hincapie.
Reports last month claimed Steidten was also under consideration by Tottenham, as the north London club seek a replacement for Fabio Paratici as their sporting director.
