‘We’ve had a dream’: Jubilant Jarrod Bowen ‘over the moon’ after his last-gasp goal secured West Ham the Europa Conference League trophy, as he admits ‘I thought I was going to cry’ following Prague heroics
West Ham hero Jarrod Bowen has admitted that he is ‘over the moon’ after netting the winner in the Europa Conference League final.
The England international netted late on to put his side 2-1 up going into the last minute of the 90, before the Irons held on to lift the trophy.
Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Bowen admitted his joy as he said: ‘I obviously dreamed of scoring but to score the winner in the last minute… it’s what you always say.
‘You want to score a last-minute winner and to do it in front of these fans. I thought I was going to cry. I’m just happy. I can’t put it into words.
‘We’ve had a dream. We haven’t had the best season, myself included, but to do what we did tonight for these fans… we see it all on Instagram, all the fans, and to give them this moment, over the moon.’

The winger continued to discuss his goal and what was going through his head as he ran onto a sublime pass by Lucas Paqueta.
‘I think in my position, you make that run 10 times, you might get it once,’ he continued. ‘As soon as you get it, you’ve got to put it away.
‘I had a lot of time. I was confident and then I saw it go in. I didn’t know what to do.
‘I said leading up to this that this is the biggest game of my career. Obviously the emotion, I thought it was going to go extra-time and then there was time for one more chance.
‘I’m just so happy. We won it for everyone. It means so much.’
The victory means West Ham will be playing Europa League football next season.
