West Ham United have reportedly thrown their hat in the ring in the chase to sign Venezia striker Joel Pohjanpalo in the summer transfer window.
According to a report from La Nuova Venezia, West Ham are showing keen interest in signing the 28-year-old hitman in the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss David Moyes will clearly be on the look out for a new centre-forward this summer, with Gianluca Scamacca being heavily linked with a return to his homeland.
In addition to that, Danny Ings has failed to impress since joining from Aston Villa in January, whilst Michail Antonio could push to leave the London Stadium in the summer.
And a new link has just surfaced regarding a potential centre-forward target for West Ham…
West Ham eyeing Venezia striker swoop in the summer transfer window
La Nuova Venezia reckon that 61-capped Finland international Joel Pohjanpalo is firmly on the Hammers’ radar.
The 28-year-old was in fine form in Serie B last season, bagging 19 goals and seven assists in 37 games for Venezia (Transfermarkt).
However, it has to be said that this would be an incredibly underwhelming signing for West Ham, if Moyes does indeed bring him to the London Stadium.
Pohjanpalo stands at 6ft 1in tall, so is a decent size, but he seriously lacks any kind of pace.
I feel like if Moyes is going to revert to the counter-attacking football that made West Ham so successful over the past three seasons, he needs to bring in a striker with blistering pace.
The Premier League would represent such a huge step up for Joel Pohjanpalo as well. I just don’t really see the wisdom in signing the Finnish forward.
West Ham should be looking elsewhere in the summer transfer window as far as I’m concerned.
