Mauricio Pochettino‘s Chelsea will host Liverpool in the headline fixture of the opening weekend of the 2023-24 Premier League season.
Pochettino, who will formally begin his new role as Chelsea boss on July 1, face the visit of Jurgen Klopp‘s side on Sunday, August 13 as both teams look to start well in their attempts to put underwhelming 2022-23 campaigns behind them.
The new season will get underway on Friday, August 11 with champions Manchester City beginning their latest title defence against newly-promoted Burnley.
That match will see Burnley boss Vincent Kompany come up against his former club and his former manager in Pep Guardiola, as the champions of the Championship host the champions of the Premier League in the very first game of the new season.
Arsenal will get the first Saturday of the 2023-24 campaign underway by hosting Nottingham Forest in the early kickoff, while there is a London derby on Sunday as Brentford host Tottenham Hotspur.
The opening weekend will then conclude when Manchester United welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford on the night of Monday, August 14.
Luton Town‘s first Premier League match will come away to Brighton & Hove Albion on the Saturday, while fellow newly-promoted side Sheffield United host Crystal Palace.
