Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is said to be keen on a move to Aston Villa with his time on the Merseyside almost up.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract at Anfield is due to expire at the end of the month and with Liverpool not renewing his terms, the former Arsenal man has been eyed up by a host of clubs – including Villa – across the land this summer.
According to a recent report from Football Insider, it is claimed that Chamberlain has expressed an interest in joining Aston Villa ahead of next season with the one-time England international revealing to his friends of his decision.
The 29-year-old – a free agent this summer – could prove to be an exciting addition to the Villa side who have been active in shoring up their squad under the charge of the new manager Unai Emery who arrived at the club earlier this year.
Emery will be delighted to reunite with his former Sevilla colleague Monchi who has been appointed as Aston Villa’s president of football operations with the Midlands outfit looking to achieve success in the forthcoming campaign.
