West Ham are in for one of the bargains of the summer as midfield monster Geoffrey Kondogbia could join for just £3.5m claims a report.
With Declan Rice edging closer to leaving West Ham and Manuel Lanzini set to be released, David Moyes faces a midfield rebuild.
The Hammers are being linked with a plethora of midfield stars from a host of leagues.
It was reported last week that ‘work has been going on behind the scenes’ at West Ham to identify a host of targets as potential replacements for the captain.
Yunus Musah, Joao Palhinha, James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez are just some of the names being mentioned as possible replacements for Rice at West Ham.

And new reports this week claim Moyes is eyeing a move for Atletico Madrid powerhouse Geoffrey Kondogbia.
We reported here on Hammers News last year that Moyes explored the possibility of signing 6ft 2in central midfielder Kondogbia from Atletico.
In the end the move did not materialise and the now 30-year-old remained in Spain.
But it seems West Ham very much remain interested in the former Inter Milan, Monaco and Sevilla star, who – on paper at least – has all the ingredients needed to be a hit in the Premier League.
Lyon and Besiktas were also being linked with a move for Kondogbia, who is allegedly available for an absolute steal. But the Turkish outfit have dropped out of the running and the Hammers are favourites according to Diario AS.

Hammers ‘pushing hard’ for powerhouse
According to Aaron Dominguez West Ham have been pushing hard overnight to sign Kondogbia and are already negotiating with Atletico Madrid.
And despite his age, a deal looks like an absolute no-brainer for the Hammers because Diario AS and Football Espana claim he could be theirs for just £3.5m.
“With a year left on his deal, Atletico want to cash in for what they can, and Besiktas were heavily linked with his signature,” Football Espana reports.
“However as per Diario AS, they have dropped out of the race, as they are unwilling to pay the €4m (£3.5m) asking price. The Turkish giants were only willing to get to €2.7m (£2.3m).
“As such, it leaves Lyon and West Ham United as the two main contenders for his signature. In Madrid, the word is that whichever of the two teams reaches that figure first will likely be able to get a deal done.”
Some may raise concerns at Kondogbia’s age. But at that price he would be an excellent squad addition with the Hammers set for another gruelling season having qualified for Europe for a third consecutive year.
