Paqueta injury update
By Sean Whetstone
Hammer Lucas Paqueta – forced off after 74 minutes for Brazil earlier this week – has not broken a collar bone per Six Foot Two – West Ham Magazine Site (6foot2.co.uk)
After scoring against Senegal, Paqueta had to leave the pitch just 16 minutes from the full-time whistle, after complaining about a shoulder problem.
Internet rumours of a broken collar bone have now been confirmed as unfounded and his injury is not thought to be serious and he expected to make a full recovery before West Ham’s trip to Australia.
Paqueta posted a video of him with son on social media with his shoulder strapped up but later that day he posted photos of himself and his family on holiday with no visible strapping.
Paqueta is on the summer transfer radar of Newcastle according to Fichajes with the Magpies ready to make a €70 million (£60 million) bid for the Brazilian.
Last summer West Ham agreed to pay Lyon a guaranteed fee of €43m (£36.75m), with €17m (£14.5m) in add-ons in performances related clauses meaning the fee could eventually reach £51.25m
