PSG are ‘outraged’ by Kylian Mbappe playing hardball, with striker content to cash in on £129m guaranteed by staying another season as he lays out what it would take to leave this summer
Kylian Mbappe has named his terms for an exit from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to reports in France.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid after he told PSG that he won’t be renewing his contract at the club.
Mbappe also released a statement confirming his intent to remain in Paris for next season, stating that he is ‘very happy’ at the club.
According to Spanish news outlet Marca, Mbappe’s situation is ‘tense’ as he is determined to complete the season with PSG to collect his £52million net salary plus an additional £78million loyalty bonus.
However, there are some terms he would be willing to accept to depart PSG this summer including the club lowering their valuation of him.
Kylian Mbappe will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain at the expiry of his contract next year
The France star has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer
Mbappe would be unwilling to give up the £130million that he is guaranteed by seeing out his contract at PSG before signing for Real Madrid and earning a further bonus.
If Real Madrid were to sign him this summer, they would have to pay a transfer fee and would reportedly be unwilling to offer Mbappe a large signing on fee compared to if he arrived on a free.
The report states that Madrid are willing to pay him as a transfer bonus but this would only be an option if he arrived on a free transfer, without the club having to pay a significant transfer fee.
Therefore, to leave this summer the 24-year-old would require PSG to let him go for less than the reported £172million valuation they have of him to save Madrid money.
Marca states that if PSG want to sell Mbappe to save his salary and the loyalty bonus, they cannot to receive ‘an important transfer fee’, and would therefore have to give into Mbappe.
It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for the superstar, with Real Madrid keeping an eye on his future as he could become available on a free transfer next season.
