Denis Zakaria has reportedly agreed to join West Ham United from Juventus this summer.
According to Italian journalist Luca Momblano, West Ham are now very close to signing Denis Zakaria after he ‘said yes’ to a move to the London Stadium.
Zakaria has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham over the past month or so.
Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to add a top-class central midfielder to his ranks with Declan Rice set to leave the club.
And whilst the Juventus ace isn’t a truly elite player, he’s certainly good enough to come in and do a good job for us…
Italian reporter makes huge claim as Denis Zakaria appears to be West Ham bound
Luca Momblano reckons that the 26-year-old is keen to join the Hammers, although a fee is still yet to be agreed between the two clubs.
It has been suggested that £17 million is what Juventus are demanding for the midfielder (Tutto Juve).
I genuinely think the 26-year-old could be a smart addition for West Ham, especially for just £17 million.
Zakaria is a defensive midfielder by trade but he can play in the centre-back position as as well if need be.
The Swiss international is incredibly dynamic and energetic. He is a tenacious tackler and has the kind of physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.
If he was given a regular run of games by David Moyes at the London Stadium, I’m certain that he would prove his true worth.
Former BSC Young Boys coach Uli Forte labelled him as an incredible player with exceptional technical ability (Mondo Napoli).
Now, Denis Zakaria is in no way good enough to replace Declan Rice at West Ham on his own. There is no doubt in my mind about that.
David Moyes needs a big squad next season though, and the Switzerland international would certainly have a big part to play for us if he moves to the London Stadium from Turin.
