Bizarre West Ham transfer link
One of the stranger transfer rumours this summer has been today’s Wilfred Zaha story. This is certainly the most bizarre West Ham transfer link in recent times, due to the history between David Moyes and the player.
Without putting too finer point on it, any possible reconciliation is implausible. Moyes and Zaha allegedly do not get along well following the Scotsman time as manager of Manchester United.
Moyes predecessor, Sir Alex Ferguson purchased a very young Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace for £12m. Fergie then went into surprise retirement and bequeathed the skillful winger to his successor.
Unfortunately there were some rumoured issues that the pair did not get along well. In fact it was former Hammer Patrice Evra who claimed ‘personal issues’ stopped the players Old Trafford career in its tracks.
The French left back went much further than that, when leaking the details live on Sky Sports. I have not intention of quoting the precise accusation here, but suffice to say the pair don’t speak.
So any suggestion that free agent Zaha is on West Ham’s radar is wide of the mark.
