As reported by Liverpool Echo, Roberto Firmino has finalized his transfer to Saudi Pro League team Al Ahli following the expiration of his contract with Liverpool at the end of the 2022/23 season. He has signed a three-year contract with the Al Ahli.
The Brazilian forward joins the growing list of high-profile players moving to the Middle East, including Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Marcelo Brozovic, Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly, who have all made their way to Saudi Arabia during this transfer window.
Firmino joined Liverpool from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015, with then-manager Brendan Rodgers and CEO Ian Ayre acting swiftly to secure the transfer and ward off competition from other European clubs.
And now, Firmino will be joining Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, where he will reunite with former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and ex-Swansea City winger Modou Barrow.

The Saudi club officially announced the signing on Tuesday night, securing the veteran star on a three-year contract. Prior to this move, the Brazilian had been linked with top European clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, after eight successful seasons with Liverpool, the 33-year-old decided to end his career with the club, during which he contributed to the team winning seven trophies.
Firmino made 362 appearances and scored 111 goals across all competitions for Liverpool. His most prolific season was in 2017-18 when he netted 27 goals in 54 matches.
