Big doubts as Hammers head Down Under
For all those CandH readers with long pockets, tickets are now on sale for the two games in Australia
The Irons land in Perth, Western Australia, this week. There, they will play A-League outfit Perth Glory on Saturday 15 July, before a London derby Down Under against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday July 18. Both games will kick-off at 6pm local time (11am BST) at the city’s 60,000-capacity Optus Stadium.
The tickets are a more than reasonable AUD 45 which equates to just over 20 quid.
Sounds tempting, but I forgot about the air-fare !
Without wishing to sound like a tree hugger, it does make you question the validity of these very short trips to the far end of the globe.
Yes, I know it is important to spread the Hammers “brand” and all that, but what with the global warming crisis and all that goes with it, it does not sit well with me.
Anyway, I am sure they will be good games and hopefully see some more Academy lads get a run out.
I think the original plan was to give our new signings their debuts.
But wait !
We have not signed anyone yet !
