Bids have been rejected for duo and offers have been made for two more as West Ham United’s window ignites.
West Ham are yet to sign a single player in the summer transfer window meaning the Hammers are one of only three Premier League clubs yet to enter the market.
But that looks set to change following the sale of Declan Rice for a British record £105m to Arsenal.
At the weekend David Moyes declared his ‘full focus’ is now on bringing players in following Rice’s departure.
And he wasn’t lying.
West Ham sprang into life last night with a big money move for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.
The Hammers were also said to be ‘leading the chase’ for Man United outcast Harry Maguire as Moyes’ interest was confirmed following Erik ten Hag’s decision to strip the defender of the Red Devils captaincy.
West Ham have also been linked with the likes of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse too.
And it really is all happening today it seems.
Bids have been rejected for duo and offers made for two more as West Ham United’s window ignites.
The Evening Standard’s former West Ham reporter Jack Rosser – now with The Sun – was the first to reveal Fulham have rejected a £40m offer from the Hammers for Portugal star Palhinha.
He claims more talks will be held this week.
The Guardian reported the same regarding Palhinha and also state that West Ham have seen a loan bid for Maguire rejected by Man United too.
That report states Manchester United are demanding a permanent deal.
But West Ham believe that is too expensive and instead want a loan with the option to buy.
While those bids have been knocked back, West Ham have been busy elsewhere.
The Daily Mail’s Transfer Confidential claims the Hammers have made a verbal offer for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
And a bid has also been floated with Ajax for Alvarez.
