However, the Italian suggests that there is still a discrepancy of around a few million between the Premier League and Serie A clubs regarding the fee for the 26-year-old.
Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to sign a top-class central midfielder this summer after Declan Rice left the London Stadium.
And whilst the Switzerland international isn’t an elite midfielder, he would certainly be able to do a job for us…
Denis Zakaria will be West Ham United’s first summer signing as reporter makes big claim
The Juve midfielder is seemingly close to joining the Hammers.
All that remains is for the two clubs to reach common ground regarding the transfer fee.
As things stand, they are believed to be roughly £6 million apart, so those differences shouldn’t be too hard to iron out.
I believe that Zakaria will be a very solid addition for West Ham, especially ion we manage to pick him up for around £15 million.
He isn’t good enough to replace Declan Rice on his own, but if he’s signed alongside another top-class central midfielder then I’ll be more than happy.
Hopefully Moyes starts signing players sooner rather than later so they ate east egg to play a small part in our pre-season campaign.
With this one though, much will depend on whether or not Juventus are prepared to lower their demands for the 26-year-old.
