Arnaut Danjuma has agreed to join Everton on loan from Villarreal for the 2023-24 campaign, sources have told Football Insider.
Danjuma is set to undergo a medical that is expected to take place this weekend.
The Merseysiders have agreed to pay Spanish club Villarreal a £3million+ loan fee for the 26-year-old to join next term.
The Toffees also close to another signing, which is also likely to be another loan that will incorporate a multi-million pound fee.
On Saturday (15 July), Football Insider revealed that Everton had made contact with Villarreal about signing the winger this summer.
The Netherlands international has three years remaining on his contract at the Spanish club after joining from Bournemouth in 2021.
Danjuma spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan with Tottenham but he had been on the cusp of joining the Merseysiders earlier this year.
The winger was set to complete a move to Goodison in January before he made an 11th hour U-turn and opted to join the London club instead where he had just one start in 12 appearances, netting one goal.
Sean Dyche is in desperate need of reinforcements in forward areas following last term’s relegation battle where goals for the Toffees were hard to come by.
Although a winger by trade, Danjuma also provides an option up front, an area of concern given Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s worrying injury record.
Earlier this year (22 May), Football Insider revealed that Everton won’t have big funds to play with in the summer window, regardless of their Premier League survival.
The club are instead being forced to operate a sell-to-buy policy in order to generate funds for new signings.
