Arsenal and Newcastle to compete with Tottenham Hotspur for Sacha Boey
According to Turkish outlet Aksam, Arsenal and Newcastle United are set to compete with Tottenham Hotspur for talented French defender Sacha Boey.
The North London club have already set their plans in motion, eagerly lining up a move for the 22-year-old Frenchman, who is said to be valued at €16 million. Tottenham are said to be really interested in the player.
However, they are not alone in this pursuit, as Arsenal and Newcastle United have also thrown their hats into the ring, adding a layer of competition that will make this chase all the more riveting.
The prospect of Tottenham splashing out on another right-back raises eyebrows among the faithful. After all, they have recently secured the services of Pedro Porro from Sporting CP, and the Spanish talent is widely expected to take on the mantle of the first-choice right-back.
The acquisition of another right-back would be perceived as somewhat surprising, unless Tottenham decides to part ways with the likes of Emerson Royal. That does not seem like happening though.
One can hardly blame Boey for seeking a more prominent role at Tottenham if he makes the move to North London. With his sights set on regular Premier League action, the Frenchman is unlikely to accept anything less than a starting position.
Sacha Boey has shown immense promise throughout his career, and at the age of 22, he would likely possess a desire to make his mark on the grand stage of English football. That might not happen in Tottenham though.
With his young age and immense talent, the Frenchman could prove to be an invaluable asset for any team seeking to strengthen their defensive resolve. He might be better off joining Arsenal at this stage of his career.
