Tottenham and Bayern looking at a swap deal between Harry Kane and Mathys Tel
According to the Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are looking to execute a swap deal that would see Harry Kane move to Germany and Mathys Tel move to England.
Munich have not given up their pursuit of the English superstar despite the fact that their offers have been continuously rebuffed by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. Bayern seem to have identified him as their marquee signing.
The Bayern chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, and technical director, Marco Neppe, were scheduled to fly to London on Friday for negotiations, although it looks like their flight was cancelled.
The German club’s representatives seem so keen on meeting with Daniel Levy and understand his demands due to the fact that the player is so keen on making the move happen. The player’s heart seems set on an exit.
Now, a new interesting development has come to light with Tottenham Hotspur supposedly interested in talented young French striker Mathys Tel who conveniently happens to be playing for Bayern.
Thomas Tuchel did say that the young forward was in his plans but he did add a caveat that things could change between now and the end of the transfer window. That could depend on whether or not Kane joins the club.
From a Tottenham perspective, Harry Kane might not be that convinced of staying at North London but they do not want to quit trying. Also, replacing him with Tel might not actually be a smart decision.
The English superstar is in a league of his own and to be fair, no one that Tottenham sign would even be a close replacement. However, they definitely need someone better than Tel if the worst comes true.
