Tottenham still some way off the valuation for Randal Kolo Muani
According to the German outlet Bild, Tottenham Hotspur are still €20m short of the valuation for talented young French striker, Randal Kolo Muani.
Kolo Muani, who plays his football for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga has been catching the eye of many of the big names in Europe with his sensational performances for the German club over the past 12 months.
The 24-year-old has had an eventful last season with many highs and the agonizing low of missing the chance to win the World Cup for his country at the very death against eventual winner Argentina.
With 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances last season, no one needs to tell you that Kolo Muani is more than just a pure striker. He is also good at creating chances for his teammates. Reminds you of someone at Tottenham, doesn’t he?
That said, it’s time to address the elephant in the room – the future of Harry Kane. The English superstar has been flirting with an exit throughout the summer and his next destination in all likelihood seems to be Bayern Munich.
What does Kane do for Tottenham? For starters, he is one of the most prolific goalscorers that the Premier League has seen in recent times. However, the English superstar is much more than just that.
There are not many number nines in football who can boast of the creative abilities that Harry Kane possesses. Maybe, of the active players, Karim Benzema and Roberto Firmino, in their primes, can make a case that they come close.
If Kane leaves, Tottenham will not just miss out on a goalscorer. They will miss out on a reference point, a chance creator, an assistor, a leader and most importantly, in all likelihood, the next captain of the team.
This is where Kolo Muani’s abilities come into the picture. The Frenchman, albeit in a small sample size, seems to cover at least two-three of Kane’s attributes. He is still young and might not have the leadership that Kane has.
Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit of the talented Frenchman though. Manchester United and Chelsea are both keeping tabs (h/t RMC Sport) on a player who can define their front lines for a generation to come.

Let’s be brutally honest here. If Kane leaves, Tottenham are in deep trouble. Kolo Muani would be an excellent punt from the club, but his valuation and the fact that we’d be signing him on the back of one good season could make this a gamble. Let’s hope we do not find ourselves in such a situation.
