Mason Greenwood is reportedly desperate to stay at Manchester United amid uncertainty surrounding his future.
The 21-year-old was arrested and subsequently charged with assault, attempted rape and coercive and controlling behaviour back in January 2022.
However, all charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February and the youngster is now set to return to action ahead of the upcoming season.
The Red Devils are expected to make a final decision about Greenwood’s next steps before their first Premier League fixture against Wolves on August 14.
And according to the Sun, Greenwood is keen to remain at Old Trafford – and has told his friends he ‘realises he has to grow up’ after becoming a father earlier this month.

A source told the publication: ‘He’s being encouraged to speak publicly and to have his voice heard.
‘But, privately, he has told those close to him that he has learned a huge amount.
‘He became a father for the first time earlier this month and realises he has to grow up.’
Atalanta are understood to be interested in taking Greenwood on loan next season as he finds his feet following the conclusion of his trial.
Although Man Utd have not indicated whether they will explore this option.
When asked for an update on Greenwood during United’s pre-season tour of the US, manager Erik ten Hag said: ‘It’s a club decision and of course, I shared my opinions but it’s a club decision and we all have to accept that.’
He added: ‘I can’t say so much about it but I shared my opinion about it, so let’s see what’s going to happen.’
