Kaveh Solhekol has delivered an update on a West Ham move for a brilliant midfielder Mark Noble scouted as a new Youssouf Fofana claim is made.
West Ham have been linked with a plethora of midfielders with the club targeting two to replace Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.
As reported on Hammers News over the weekend, a journalist with strong sources inside West Ham claimed the club were going to ‘press ahead’ with moves for midfielders Edson Alvarez and Youssouf Fofana.
As revealed this morning, a deal has been agreed with Ajax for Mexico star Alvarez.
So will Monaco and France midfielder Fofana be next for West Ham?
Well Sky Sports’ chief reporter has suggested that could be the case.

Kaveh Solhekol has delivered an update on a West Ham move for the brilliant midfielder Mark Noble scouted as a new Fofana claim is made.
“I think there’ll be other midfielders (in addition to Alvarez) in as well,” Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.
“One really interesting target is Youssouf Fofana, the Monaco and France midfielder – who played in I think six of France’s games at the World Cup… West Ham have been looking at him very closely, lots of other big clubs in Europe as well.
“I think maybe West Ham have now missed out on him because they’ve decided to go for Alvarez. But he’s a name to look out for as well because he could well leave Monaco.”
France star next after Alvarez?
L’Equipe first reported West Ham’s interest in Fofana back in June as the Hammers geared up for life after Rice.
RMC Sport then claimed West Ham were better placed than the likes of Inter Milan and Roma to sign the 24-year-old France international.
Back in February, sporting director Noble attended Monaco’s 3-1 win over PSG on invitation of then sporting director Paul Mitchell.
Football.London claimed Noble was also assessing a number of potential West Ham summer targets while at the game.
And Fofana put in a man of the match display, playing a hand in two of the three goals.
90 Min claimed recently that Fofana ‘has emerged as a player of significant interest to West Ham’.
And The Daily Mail claimed initial communication has taken place over a deal between the Hammers and Monaco for Fofana.
In those conversations West Ham were allegedly pleasantly surprised to hear the principality club put a realistic price tag on the player’s head.
