Kieran Tierney could replace Aaron Cresswell at West Ham
Football Transfers reckon that the Scot could be brought in to the London Stadium this summer, if Cresswell does in fact leave.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly prepared to sell the 26-year-old Gunners defender for around £30 million (The Sun).
That sounds like an awful lot of money to me, especially for someone who has missed 48 games through injury since the start of the 2019/20 season (Transfermarkt).
Having said that, if you could guarantee that he’d remain fit, he would be well worth that kind of money.
Tierney would be a massive upgrade on Cresswell.
The 26-year-old ex-Celtic ace possesses blistering pace, is very strong in the tackle and is hard to get past. He is also very attacking and would be perfect for the wing-back role at the London Stadium.
The Arsenal star possesses an absolutely wicked delivery as well – the one thing that we really do miss when Cresswell doesn’t play.
Maybe he’ll be worth the risk. Kieran Tierney would be a good signing for West Ham if he can maintain his fitness. Maybe it’s time for the Hammers to take a punt.
