Maguire reported keen on Hammers move
Manchester United are now ready to push hard for a deal to be done that sees Harry Maguire join West Ham United and the defender is now believed to be keen on the idea.
That’s the word from the London Evening Standard who claim however that the Irons will not be covering his £190,000-a-week wages although an agreement with United to help do so is on the cards
The ‘paper adds that Maguire “is ready for a fresh challenge and is excited by the prospect of a move to play under David Moyes at the London Stadium.”
The 30 year old has fallen way down the Old Trafford pecking order and was stripped of the United captaincy last month.
Moyes, who has been frustrated by the lack of new signings at West Ham this summer, is targeting British players and wants to strengthen his centre-back options.
Meanwhile the Hammers remain keen to sign Maguire’s United team-mate Scott McTominay.
