Image: New Hammer Alvarez flies in
Edson Alvarez is on his way to the London Stadium for a West Ham medical later today.
Our picture shows him on a private plane with agents Nathan and Fulco van Kooperen with West Ham Technical director Tim Steidten in background.
Alvarez’s arrival will herald the first Hammers signing of the summer although there are reports this afternoon that the club are ready to up the bid for Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay.
Alvaraz will arrive on the back of a £32 million transfer fee plus £3m extras on a wage of £100,000 a week and very much represents Declan Rice’s replacement,
The Hammers will now be hoping to get McTominay on board to join the Mexican in midfield as things finally kick into gear within the Hammers transfer window but will need to up the fee with United making it clear £30 million undervalues him.
And it seems that Maguire is being seen as the next skipper of the club so keen is the club to get him on board.
