Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is hoping to return to action after the September international break.
The 24-year-old saw a move to Chelsea fall through on Friday despite the clubs initially agreeing a deal over his £20million release clause and Mail Sport understands he is facing another four weeks out with his hamstring injury.
Chelsea’s commitment to signing Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia meant a deal for Adams was considered one too much, particularly as he will not be fully fit to play until next month.
Adams underwent non-invasive surgery on a hamstring injury back in March and missed Leeds’ run-in at the end of last season which ultimately saw them relegated.
With Premier League pedigree and leadership qualities, the USA international captain, who is likely to lead his country into the next World Cup, has had plenty of interest with Brighton, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth among the clubs to have made enquiries of varying degrees.

Adams had opted for the chance to move to big-spending Chelsea but, despite disappointment over the fact it failed to come to fruition, he knows he will get more regular game time at another club.
His injury will come under consideration but those close to Adams insist he will be ready to play by the middle of September.
