Daniel Farke admits Leeds United’s early-season crisis is giving him sleepless nights.
The German arrived at Elland Road on a four-year deal earlier this summer but has seen a mass exodus of players following last season’s relegation.
Just hours before Friday’s 1-1 draw at home to West Brom, Tyler Adams agreed a deal to join Bournemouth and Willy Gnonto slapped in a transfer request with Everton circling.
With Luis Sinisterra’s future at the club also in serious doubt, Farke’s already-decimated squad looks set to be weakened further and he is desperate for new arrivals before the window closes.
The Leeds boss said: ‘It’s a hell of a task and I said that on my first day here.

‘It’s going to be a long, bumpy road but we need to strengthen the squad.
‘Yes, we definitely need a few more additions if we want to be ambitious.
‘On the 2nd of September I will have a proper sleep.
‘At the moment the days don’t have enough hours as I had to prepare the lads for West Brom.
‘It was so difficult but on the other hand you watch so many players for potential incomings so it’s like I have no private life at the moment.
‘You find it difficult to find sleep but I lead a privileged life and I don’t complain – I don’t want any sympathy or anyone feeling sorry for me.
‘I’m just grateful to work in a responsible role for this great club and to help a little bit to give us easier times soon.

‘It’s a joy to work here but a bit more sleep would be nice!’
That seems unlikely with Farke admitting he was ready to get to work on Leeds’ transfer plans immediately after the West Brom game.
Whether or not he gets the number of players he wants remains to be seen, but the German knows it will determine if Leeds can mount a promotion push this season.
Winless so far after three league games, Farke is refusing to use Leeds’ current shortage of players for their poor start to the season.
He was able to name only five outfield players on the bench against West Brom but added: ‘I can’t bring in more than five outfield players anyway.
‘Therefore, I don’t want any sympathy and I don’t want us to feel sorry for ourselves or use excuses to let our standards drop.
‘I’m quite sure that pretty, pretty soon there will be much better times – and also easier times – for us.’

Captain Luke Ayling insisted that things would come good after the side’s winless start in the league
Captain Luke Ayling, who scored Leeds’ equaliser against the Baggies on Friday, spoke of the trepidation within the squad ahead of the transfer window closing.
He said: ‘I’m not going to lie, I can’t wait for the window to close so that we know what we’ve got.
‘There is a lot of uncertainty and a lot of players going.
‘Hopefully, we will get a few in over the next few weeks, but we have a great squad in there.
‘We’re a young team and I’m sure things will come good.’
