Leeds United have made a bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s Germany midfielder Nadiem Amiri.
Daniel Farke is eager to add attacking players to his squad as Leeds aim to return to the Premier League.
They have also asked about Genk winger Joseph Paintsil and remain keen on Swansea striker Joel Piroe, though the clubs have differing valuations.
Amiri, 26, is an attacking midfielder who has played five times for Germany, though his last appearance was back in 2020.
Amiri is entering the final year of his Leverkusen contract and was a late substitute in their 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season.

He played 36 times for the club last season, scoring four times, but was a starter in only 13 of those games. It remains to be seen whether he’d wish to drop down to the second tier in England.
Leeds have yet to win a Championship game this season, drawing with Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion, and losing 1-0 to Birmingham City.
Their only success came against League One Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup first round.
They make the trip to table-topping Ipswich Town this Saturday.
Ghanaian Paintsil, 25, can play as either a left-sided winger or an attacking midfielder and scored 18 goals in 39 matches for Genk in all competitions last season.
Piroe, 24, has impressed in his two seasons in the Championship with Swansea, scoring 24 and 20 goals respectively.
