Leeds are closing in on an agreement to sign striker Joel Piroe from Champions rivals Swansea.
The deal is expected to be completed on Thursday, with the two clubs agreeing a fee worth around £12million for the 24-year-old.
Piroe has been one of the Championship’s most consistent goalscorers since joining the Welsh club from PSV in 2021 for an initial £1m.
The Netherlands youth international netted 22 times across 45 league appearances in his first season for the Swans, before finishing fourth in the league’s top scorers chart last season with 19 in 43 games.
Piroe also netted a brace as Michael Duff’s side defeated Northampton in the EFL Cup third round earlier this month.

The news of a new arrival will be welcome by Leeds boss Daniel Farke, after he inherited a team in flux following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
Farke admitted last week that he has endured sleepless nights amid their chaotic transfer window, with Tyler Adams the latest to secure a move away from Elland Road, joining Bournemouth for £20m last week.
Meanwhile wantaway star Wilfried Gnonto has returned to training alongside the club’s first-team.
Gnonto had been ostracised after refusing to be selected and submitting a written transfer request as he attempts to force through a return to Premier League by joining ex-Whites teammate Jack Harrison at Everton.
