Al-Ittihad forward Jota on Tottenham Hotspur transfer radar
Tottenham Hotspur have been alerted to the availability of Jota, who has quickly fallen out of favour at Al-Ittihad, according to 90min (h/t The Sun).
The Portuguese national signed for the Saudi Pro League outfit in the ongoing transfer window. However, a few weeks into his stint at the Middle Eastern side, the winger is being linked with an exit.
Al-Ittihad signed the 24-year-old this summer from Celtic for £25 million. However, the midfielder has had a hard time fitting in with some of the new teammates. As a result, the Jeddah-based club want to get rid of him.
To that end, Jota has popped up on Tottenham’s radar. However, the North London side are keeping tabs on other options, including Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson.
The Portuguese made his way through the youth ranks at SL Benfica before making a move to Celtic in the summer of 2021. The left winger spent two years at the Scottish outfit playing under Ange Postecoglou.
Jota thrived under the Australian manager at the Glasgow-based club. During his time there, the Portuguese national made 83 appearances in all competitions, scoring 28 goals and providing 26 assists.
Tottenham have bolstered their attack with the addition of Manor Solomon this summer. However, we have seen the likes of Lucas Moura and Harry Kane leave.
Therefore, we could evidently do with additional reinforcements up front. Son Heung-min has been ever-present on the left-hand side of our attack over the years, while the gaffer can also call upon Ivan Perisic for now.

However, Jota is a young talent with a lot of potential. Postecoglou arguably will know all about the forward, having managed him at Celtic. However, it remains to be seen whether the Australian will be reunited with the Portuguese in the Premier League.
