Tottenham are plotting a future move for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson as a Harry Kane replacement
According to talkSport (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur would plot a bid for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson in the future in their bid to replace Harry Kane.
The club are not thinking about making an offer this summer as they think the Seagulls would not be entertaining any of it.
Manchester United have also kept an eye on the 18-year-old with a view to make a move in the coming transfer windows. They have just signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta this summer though.
Ferguson has risen up the ranks in the last few months since making his Brighton debut during the 2021/22 season. He has scored 11 goals and assisted four in 32 appearances so far.
Although the Republic of Ireland international is a striker, he can play on the wing or as a support striker if required.
He is physically strong, has the pace to go past defenders and is technically strong to find a way around in tight spaces. The finishing part of his game is ever-improving as well.
Tottenham have lost an elite goal scorer in the shape of Harry Kane this summer. Richarlison is currently leading the line but the team needs another option there either now or in the near future.
The club is in talks with Nottingham Forest to potentially sign Brennan Johnson this week. Although the Welshman would be a good addition, he isn’t a number nine. So, that position would still be unfilled.

Among the other options Spurs can look at is Brentford’s Ivan Toney. There is an expectation of a bidding war coming in January to sign the England international. He will be free to start playing again from the middle of that month onwards. The good news is that the club’s name has been included on the list of interested clubs.
