Tottenham Hotspur are close to landing Hajduk Split defensive prodigy Luka Vuskovic
According to the reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of landing Croatian defensive prodigy Luka Vuskovic.
The Hajduk Split sensation is garnering much interest thanks to his massive rise up the ranks in recent years. He did not just made his senior debut days after turning 16 but is also the youngest goal scorer in the club’s history.
This caught the attention of several top sides with several keeping close tabs on his progress. It would not appear that Tottenham have won the race and will now aim to help the youngster realize his potential.
As things stand, personal terms have already been agreed and the paperwork is being drawn between the clubs. The player, for his part, wanted only Spurs- a massive shot in the arm for Daniel Levy and what he is trying to build in North London.
However, Vuskovic will remain at Hajduk till he turns 18, meaning the move to Tottenham will only happen in the year 2025. The fact that we still chose to move fast to secure his signature is a clear indication of the player’s massive potential.
The transfer fee is likely to be around £12million, a decent fee for a 16-year-old. But then, given that the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City were all keen, Vuskovic appears to be the real deal.
Croatian heroes are not unfamiliar at Tottenham. Luka Modric shone at White Hart Lane before moving to Real Madrid while Ivan Perisic continues to star even today. Surely Vuskovic will join the esteemed company and make a name for himself in white.
