Tottenham Hotspur star Ivan Perisic could move to Hajduk Split in January
According to Croatian outlet tportal (h/t football.london), veteran star Ivan Perisic could leave Tottenham Hotspur in the upcoming 2024 January transfer window.
Brought in by former boss Antonio Conte, Perisic is one of the senior most players in the current Spurs roster. A celebrated player who has won many major honours, his time in North London has been a mixed bag.
Now 34, his powers are on the wane and the twilight of his career is at hand. Perisic can be considered expendable and a move to his homeland Croatia could be on the cards with Hajduk Split keen.
Perisic is familiar with Hajduk having spent six years in the club’s academy from 2000-2006. He eventually moved to French side Sochaux before making his first team bow. A return to the Stadion Poljud would bring his career full circle.
The 34-year-old is an option for Hajduk in the agreement that will take Luka Vuskovic to the N-17. The 16-year-old is one of the best young prospects in European football and is primed to move to Tottenham when he turns 18 in 2025.
Perisic is a dynamic wing-back who can also serve as a winger when needed. However, his age makes him more of a liability to Tottenham and their high-intensity style under Ange Postecoglou.
Swapping out Perisic for an upcoming player in Vuskovic could prove to be the best foot forward in the long term. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen.

Perisic’s time at Tottenham has been a let down. While he has had his moments, it has fallen short of expectations. If he is to leave in January, we hope he does it on a high. It is the least his legendary career deserves.
