According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid have entered the race to sign Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes, adding further competition for Liverpool and Chelsea.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with the 25-year-old midfielder recently, with reports indicating that they made attempts to acquire him during the summer transfer window.
These Premier League giants are expected to revive their interest in Guimaraes, either in January or the following summer, but now Real Madrid are also showing interest.
Newcastle are determined to keep the South American player and are actively working to secure his long-term future. Although Guimaraes’ current contract runs until the summer of 2026, the Magpies aim to extend his deal.
The Brazilian midfielder joined Newcastle in January 2022 from Olympique Lyon, benefiting from the club’s increased financial resources following their takeover.

Among the quality signings made by Newcastle in recent transfer windows, Guimaraes has arguably stood out as the best.
The midfielder has played a pivotal role in their success under manager Eddie Howe, contributing to their fourth-place finish in the Premier League last season, which secured their return to Champions League football.
Given Guimaraes’ importance to the team’s success, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Newcastle demand a huge transfer fee for his departure.
Howe’s side is looking for a fee of at least £100 million. This demand appears reasonable in the current market climate, considering Guimaraes’ impact and value to the club.
During the summer transfer window, both Liverpool and Chelsea underwent significant changes in their midfield departments.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool saw the departures of key players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea had to rebuild their midfield after the exits of N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, and Mateo Kovacic.

However, both teams have made promising additions to their midfield squads. Liverpool have made notable signings in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who have already shown their quality.
The Reds also secured the services of Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, further strengthening their midfield options.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have signed Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia, and Moises Caicedo in the last two transfer windows. Both clubs are expected to continue spending in their efforts to compete with Manchester City.
Signing Guimaraes would be an excellent addition for either team, given his quality and potential impact on their squads.
