According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, while speaking to Caught Offside, Liverpool does not appear to have any intentions of pursuing a move for Kalvin Phillips.
The Manchester City player, who is valued at £45 million and has won three major trophies, may be looking for more consistent playing opportunities in January. However, the journalist suggests that the Reds are unlikely to make a move for Phillips.
The midfielder may need to reconsider his stance on staying at the Etihad Stadium and consider a move elsewhere. Pep Guardiola currently does not place the former Leeds United player in his plans, confining him to a bench role.
According to Romano, it’s increasingly likely that Phillips and Man City will reach an agreement on his departure.

With his playing time reduced week by week, the treble winner may also be thinking about the upcoming European competitions in which he needs regular playing time.
There is no shortage of interest from Premier League clubs, with Liverpool also being linked to the midfielder recently.
Jurgen Klopp had been in search of a holding midfielder, although it remains uncertain whether he views the Man City star as his top choice for that role.
Romano has currently dismissed the possibility of Phillips making a move to Liverpool.
According to the Italian journalist, the Reds have not yet finalized their plans for the January transfer window and may determine their targets at a later date.

The Merseyside club underwent a drastic overhaul of their midfield during the summer transfer window. Klopp had an urgent need for a new holding midfielder and ultimately signed Wataru Endo.
The manager has not extensively utilized Endo and has instead deployed Alexis Mac Allister as the primary holding midfielder in his system.
As a result, the links to Phillips made perfect sense. However, it won’t be easy to sign a player from Man City.
