Jurgen Klopp has praised Mohamed Salah, emphasizing that despite his age, he maintains an impressive physical condition and continues to have a growing impact both on and off the field at Liverpool.
The Egyptian winger achieved a new milestone by scoring his 43rd European goal for the Reds in their 5-1 victory over Toulouse on Thursday. He has now become the top all-time scorer in European competitions for an English club.
Klopp has revealed that the 31-year-old has made adjustments to his playing style following the arrival of Darwin Nunez and the departure of Roberto Firmino.
According to the German manager, Salah’s ability to successfully adapt his game is a clear demonstration of his world-class talent.
Although there is persistent interest in the winger from Saudi Arabia, Klopp is confident that the Egyptian player can maintain his high-level performance at Liverpool for several more years.
As quoted by Liverpool Echo, the manager said:
“He is top fit. I think if we were to scan him the majority of the bones would be aged 19 or 20! He just keeps himself in such good shape. I cannot compare Mo to other 30-year-olds because I don’t think biologically he is!”
Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad expressed their interest in Salah.
FSG president Mike Gordon rejected an offer that could have been as much as £150 million for the No.11 in late August.
The African ace scored his ninth goal of the season in Liverpool’s victory over Toulouse, sealing the win with a stoppage-time strike against the French team.
He has consistently shown that he can contribute goals and assists even at this age and he is still breaking records for the Reds. At this moment there is no stopping the player and he has truly established a legendary status at Anfield.
The main task for Klopp and his team would be to make sure their prized asset continues to stay put and his current club and rejects any approach for Saudi Arabian clubs next summer.
