Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has been banned from being in the dugout and on the sidelines at Newcastle this afternoon.
His team travel up north to face The Toon but Pochettino will have to make do with a place in the stands at best and will only be able to communicate with his players through his assistant coaches. It’s never the same when these things happen but Pochettino has to suffer the punishment of being handed three yellow cards this season for getting angry with the officials.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea looking to bring back former defender who left for a big club not so long ago!
But that isn’t the only punishment he will be receiving. Pochettino will also be punishing himself, just as he with Nicolas Jackson lately after his ban from a vast amount of yellow cards.
He had to do extra running, but Pochettino says he will not be doing any running but instead he will be buying all his players and staff dinner.
In the embargoed section of yesterday’s press conference with our people in attendance, Pochettino said: “[Jackson] had to run [for his punishment]. And I am going to pay for a dinner because I got suspended and I cannot run, so I prefer to pay.”
