There’s some breaking news in the air at Tottenham Hotspur headquarters: Fraser Forster has signed a new contract with Spurs!
We are delighted to announce that Fraser Forster has signed a new contract with the Club that will run until the summer of 2025

Forster’s deal was set to expire end of this season, but instead he’ll be on Spurs’ books one more year after initially signing on a free for two years back in the summer of 2022. Remember when times were still hopeful under Conte? Well, it seems like Forster thinks things are even more hopeful now under Ange (which… of course they are)!
This is a little bit of a weird one for both Spurs and Forster: Forster is unlikely at this point to get many real minutes unless there’s an injury to Guglielmo Vicario (and I am currently touching as many wooden surfaces as possible), and he’s also not really a fit for Ange’s system, lacking the mobility to support the high defensive line.
The other thing you could say is this seems to put a nail in the coffin of the likes of Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin making the jump to second choice keeper; you would think if there was hope for them to make that step that there would be no reason to re-sign the big Englishman.
With that said, it’s quite possible Levy, Ange, and Forster have discussed a transfer in the summer, and this is just a way for the club to recoup some of their investment (in wages, since he was free) – or maybe Forster at this point in his career is just happy to sit on the bench and collect a paycheck!
Either way, Forster has been a good servant to the club, and seems like a good guy to have around the dressing room. He’s well liked, counts towards our homegrown quota, and probably isn’t costing us an exorbitant amount in wages. I’m sure the team will be glad to retain him – I just hope Vicario plays every minute from here on out!
