Chelsea weren’t just bad tonight, they didn’t look bothered at times.
They were sluggish and slow in thought and action. It was rubbish, and Mauricio Pochettino’s excuses are even worse.
He said his team “missed energy” – well that’s true at least.
He blamed it on the fact that his team had had to play with 10 men for an hour against Brighton on Sunday. We’re sure that played a part, but this was more than a little slow, it was all around awful.
You can see the Chelsea coach speaking in the clip embedded here:
“We missed energy. Maybe the lack of energy came from having to play with one player less against Brighton.”
Mauricio Pochettino tells @andykerrtv that a lack of energy was Chelsea’s downfall… a sign that he will need to stamp out the previous ill discipline in his team.#CFC pic.twitter.com/w6kG7TrVAj
