Chelsea’s insatiable appetite for wonderkids seems to have found a new target.
Transfer website Fichajes are reporting that the Blues are in the race for Max Moerstedt, the Hoffenheim youngster who has been impressing with the German Under 17 national team of late.
Moerstedt was part of Bayern Munich’s academy when he was very young, before switching to Hoffenheim in 2021. It was by becoming a bigger fish in a smaller pond that he really began to shine, and the striker was soon getting international youth team callups.
His senior callup at club level is expected before the end of this season, and that’s when his value will really start to skyrocket.
Chelsea have signed a plethora of youngsters, but are still looking for goals, and the route to the first team in the striker department is as clear as anywhere in the team. Our scouting department will certainly be watching to see how this latest wonderkid develops.
